Putnam Valley Teachers, Kids Wear Red Noses For Good Cause PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- A recent Red Nose Day at Putnam Valley Middle School raised money for kids in poverty.The inaugural May 27 fundraiser was the brainchild of seventh-grader Alliyah Steele, a Student Council representative who wanted to bring school-wide attention to a national event that raises money for children's poverty, said teacher Mary Kay Cohen, Student Council co-advisor. Huntington Fire Honors 60-Year Member SHELTON, Conn. -- A local resident was duly honored this week for his birthday and Father's Day, and moreover, for his 60-plus years of service to the Huntington Fire Company 3 in Shelton.The distinction was cause for a celebration at the fire department where Kraemer was also feted for his army service in World War II. The local resident served under General George Patton in an armored tank division and fought many battles, including Battle of the Bulge.
