New York Times Follows Up On Daily Voice Report Of Windswept Farm Arrests
NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- While investigators say they have no evidence connecting two alleged hay thieves with the November murder of North Salem socialite Lois Colley, the investigation has turned to what they may know, The New York Times reported Wednesday. State police arrested two workers on the Colley family's 300-acre Windswept Farm and accused them stealing $30,000 worth of hay and selling it, Daily Voice first reported Tuesday. SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Work on the Crane Road Bridge project on the Bronx River Parkway along the border of Scarsdale and Greenburgh has been completed and was finished under budget.The project to replace the deteriorated Crane Road Bridge on the Bronx River Parkway along the border of Scarsdale and Greenburgh began in June, 2012. YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers real estate company R.J. Rose Realty that specializes in rejuvenating historic buildings has received a $500,000 grant to improve Yonkers Arts District.The grant from the Empire State Development Grants Program will help revitalize Yonkers Carpet Mills Arts District (CMAD) and the region’s infrastructure. WESTPORT, Conn. -- Social media postings about the death of a student from Staples High School contain information that is incorrect and deemed "harmful" and "disrespectful," Westport Superintendent of Schools Elliott Landon reportedly said Tuesday, according to the Westport News.Students at Staples High School learned Monday of the death of wrestling team member and Boy Scout Christopher Lanni, 14, who died on Dec 23 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Westport News said. Middletown Pupil, 9, Charged With Making Threats To Schoolmates
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- A student, 9, was arrested for allegedly threatening to harm kids after the break for the holidays at Maple Hill Elementary School, according to News 12 Westchester. The child allegedly made the Dec. 26 threats in a message left on school answering machine, News 12 Westchester said. Ridgewood's Memoire Restaurant Reportedly Closes
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Ridgewood restaurant Mémoire has closed its doors, according to Boozy Burbs. The 16 Chestnut St. establishment's owner called the closing "one of the toughest decisions that I've ever had to make," Boozy Burbs said. In a reported statement, Tom Finnelli attributed the decision to several factors, including having the combined financial and emotional responsibilities of running a restaurant as both owner and executive chef, according to Boozy Burbs. New Paltz Police Charge 3 With Drug Possession
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Marijuana and Xanax were allegedly found in the possession of three people stopped in New Paltz by police Monday, according to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal.Police conducted a traffic stop on Main Street, then charged the three East Elmhurst residents with the following: fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony and a misdemeanor respectively, and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
