Bring Birth Kit Items To Tuckahoe High, Middle Schools In Eastchester
EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Tuckahoe Middle and High Schools in Eastchester are collecting items for "birth kits" to help mothers around the world have safe deliveries of their babies.
The items needed are baby blankets, baby beanie hats, soap and hand sanitizers.
The birth kits will be given to the AFYA organization, which aims to improve maternal and children's health by providing midwives, community health care workers, and physicians with the supplies they need to safely care for mothers and newborns.

Elaine Dropauer, 69, Of Staatsburg
STAATSBURG, N.Y. -- Elaine Dropauer, a longtime Staatsburg resident, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 2 at her home. She was 69.Born July 11, 1946, in Valhalla, Dropauer was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Anton.
She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Yonkers.
Dropauer is survived by her children, Jeffrey P. Dropauer (Lisa), of Staatsburg, Jennifer E. Kitchen (Steven), of Ballston Lake; sisters, Marlene Nasko (John), of Peekskill and Bernadette Drago of Iowa; brother, Alan Tacinelli (Donna), of Yonkers; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
