Plane Carrying Navy Men Crashed In Fishkill 70 years ago FISHKILL, N.Y. -- It has been 70 years to the day since a plane whose passengers were six Navy servicemen reportedly heading to Rhode Island from New Jersey crashed in Fishkill, says Time Warner Cable News, Hudson Valley.The men known as the Mount Beacon Eight among others will be honored in a Saturday ceremony in Fishkill, according to Time Warner Cable News, Hudson Valley. He resided in Glen Rock since 1968. He was a parishioner of St. Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock. An animal lover, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Prior to retiring, Cervone was an accountant. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn D. Hydrant Flushing Could Change Water Color In Ridgewood RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Ridgewood Water will be performing system flushing, which could temporarily discolor water.  The work will include the operation of fire hydrants at flow velocities sufficient to remove naturally occurring minerals that have precipitated out of the water and settled, the utility said. Because the work could alter the color of the water, Ridgewood Water will be conducting the flushing late at night.
