Bring Food, Turkeys To Friday's Shelton v. Hamden Game SHELTON, Conn. -- Seniors at Shelton High School are asking anyone attending the Shelton v. Hamden High School football game Friday, Nov. 13, to bring a donation of a turkey or nonperishable food item.Friday is Senior Night and the food drive is in memory of Audrey Dryer. Donations will help support the Shelton High School Food Bank, which will then donate food to families in need of a Thanksgiving dinner.

Tarrytown PTA Asking For Coat Donations TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The Tarrytown Public Schools PTA is collecting gently used coats until Dec. 4. There are collection boxes in each of the school lobbies for donations. The coats will be given to children in the community.

Explore Poughkeepsie's Shipbuilding Past At Ceremony POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A ceremony to commemorate the history of shipbuilding is set for Thursday, at 10 a.m. at Shipyard Point, 176 Rinaldi Blvd., lower lot of Shadows on the Hudson, in Poughkeepsie.The bronze plaque set in local blue-stone commemorates more than 100 years of shipbuilding in Poughkeepsie 1775 to about 1890. This pivotal period officially began after the Continental Congress authorized Poughkeepsie to construct the two frigates USS Congress and USS Montgomery on Dec.13, 1775. Rockland County Vets Can Get ID Discount Cards CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The "Return the F.A.V.O.R.," which stands for "Find and Assist Vets of Record, discount program, provides picture I.D. cards to honorably discharged veterans. The County Clerk has recruited over 800 local merchants who agree to honor the card by providing holders with a discount on goods or services.. Bridgeport Police Arrest Driver Clocked At Over 120 MPH BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A man in a rental car preparing to drag race on a highway was arrested on multiple charges after zooming off at speeds of over 120 mph, Bridgeport police said Tuesday. The incident began at about midnight Monday, Nov. 9, when officers saw multiple cars stopped in the middle of Route 8/25, near Exit 5, preparing to illegally street race, police said.
