Bronxville Kids Learn To 'Get Low And Go' In Case Of Fire
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Members of the Eastchester Fire District recently paid a visit to The Chapel School in Bronxville to observe Fire Prevention Week and teach the children about fire safety and prevention.Lt. Thomas Pintavalle and firefighters Vincent Dibetetto and Robert Grogan taught the kids about smoke detectors and planning escape routes with their families. They also demonstrated such safety techniques as how to "get low and go" to escape a fire.

Common Core Task Force Reportedly Stalled By Schedule
ALBANY — The task force assembled by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to review the controversial Common Core has been fraught with sudden notices of meetings and meeting times that parents and teachers are unable to meet because they are not convenient, according to capitalnewyork.com. Eastchester Students Recognized For Italian Excellence
EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Four Eastchester Middle and High School students and their teachers were recognized in an October ceremony for students throughout Westchester County that excel in the Italian language.The Westchester Coalition of Italian American Organizations and the Westchester County Board of Legislators held the awards ceremony at the Meucci Lodge of White Plains attended by many dignitaries, including Chiara Saulle of the Italian consulate.

Litchfield Boys Accused Of Wearing Columbine Shooter Costumes
LITCHFIELD, Conn. -- Two male students from Litchfield High School were reportedly arrested Nov. 4 following an allegation that they wore Halloween costumes that appeared like the Columbine shooting gunmen then allegedly made threats about doing harm to other students, according to the New York Times. Though the nature of the threats are reportedly not clear Connecticut State Police charged the boys with inciting injury to persons or property and breach of peace, the Times said.
