Coffee, Tea, Baby and Me for parents of children ages 2 and under will run Wednesdays, Oct. 7 to Nov. 18, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. There will be speakers from the Child Care Council of Westchester on Oct. 18 and 21. Helen Galog, 104, Of Fairfield, Former Nursery School Teacher FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Helen M. Galog of Fairfield, died Sunday, Sept. 27, at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. She was 104. She was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., to Harry and Annie Skinner, and moved to Fairfield in 1931.  She was a nursery school teacher for 28 years at the First Church Congregational, Fairfield, and the Southport Congregational Church. Galog was a longtime member of First Church Congregational in Fairfield. Her joys in life were working with children and travel. She was an outdoor enthusiast, avid swimmer and camper. Pedestrian Struck By Hit, Run Driver Near WestConn Campus DANBURY, Conn. -- A pedestrian was struck Wednesday morning on White Street outside the Western Connecticut State University by a hit-and-run driver, a News-Times report says.The man, who appeared to be 18 to 20 years old, was thrown 10 feet and was taken by ambulance to Danbury Hospital, the report said.  According to the article, police are searching for the driver, who hit the man in the main crosswalk at the parking garage. Yorktown Man Charged With Driving With Suspended License YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 23, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, Yorktown officials said. Police also charged Paul Tetro, 57, with two traffic violations, failure to use a turn signal and failure to yield right of way. An officer on patrol on Route 6 observed Tetro at 7:10 a.m. allegedly fail to stop and yield. A ceremony was held Sept. 19 with members of the Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association in attendance.
