Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Christopher Willis of Long Branch has been charged with first-degree murder related to the death of Norberto Nieves, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni. Jersey Shore Police Respond To Shots Fired Police in Ocean County were called on a report of multiple shots fired late Wednesday, authorities said. Brick Township police officers found blood evidence and bullet casings on Creek Road at about 11:30 p.m. An initial report said that a 9-1-1 caller had heard eight to 10 shots fired, but the suspect had fled the scene.
