Man Fatally Stabbed At Plainfield Train Station: Prosecutors A 45-year-old Plainfield man was fatally stabbed at the Plainfield Train Station on the afternoon of July 6, authorities said. At 2 p.m. police from Plainfield and NJ Transit responded to the train station and found Juquin Smith, suffering from stab wounds, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Daniel said. The investigation is active and ongoing, Daniel said. Elizabeth Man Shot Victim In The Head: Prosecutors A 20-year-old Elizabeth man was arrested and charged with shooting David Guevara in the head last month, prosecutors said. Joel Argueta was hit with a first-degree murder charge on Thursday, July 6, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves, and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca announced. Man Who Beat Wife Dead With Buddha Statue After Suffocating Her Gets Prison Time In Maryland A man who suffocated his wife with a pillowcase then beat her to death with a Buddha statue in their home has learned his fate. Reginald Dunlap, a 45-year-old Silver Spring resident, was sentenced to 55 years in prison for murdering his wife, Lauren Charles in 2021, authorities said. FBI Seeking To Exhume Body Of Woman Slain 54 Years Ago, Featured In Netflix Doc It's been almost 54 years since Joyce Malecki's unsolved murder. Now her killing might be one step closer to being solved. The FBI is seeking an order to exhume her body, Kurt Wolfgang, the executive director of the Maryland Crime Victim's Resource Center said. Malecki was 20 years old on Nov. 11, 1969, when she disappeared. Malecki was found dead two days later at Fort Meade, and is buried at Loudon Park National Cemetery in Baltimore. Service Suspended After Train Disabled In Maplewood Service has been suspended on parts of the Morris and Essex line after a train disabled in Maplewood on Friday, July 7, NJ Transit officials said. North Bergen Teen Sexually Assaulted Child: Prosecutors An 18-year-old North Bergen man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl several times in May, authorities announced. Brandon Majano was arrested on Thursday, July 6 and charged with sexual assault in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of child sex abuse material, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Majano was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance next week, Suarez said.

Missing Maryland Boater Drowned, Police Say A boater who had been missing since Monday, July 3 has drowned, Maryland's National Resources Police said. The boater's body was recovered on Wednesday, July 5, Megan McGinn-Meals of the NRP said. Internet Coming To Hundreds Of Baltimore County Residents With New $7.4M Grant It's about to be easier to access the internet in rural Baltimore County. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Comcast announced on Thursday, July 6, a new $7.4 million state grant to support the expansion of high-speed broadband service to 450 homes in rural areas in northern Baltimore County.
