An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Popular Grocery Chain Corrado's Market Shutters Wayne Location Corrado's has closed its location in Wayne, the store confirmed to Daily Voice. The supermarket was located at 201 Berdan Ave. at the Point View Shopping Center and had been open since 2008. Corrado's still has markets in Fairfield, Denville and Clifton, according to its website. Corrado's did not give a reason for closing the Wayne location. A sign was taped to the front door announcing the closure, saying the decision was not taken lightly. "We understand the impact it may have on you," the sign said. "Please visit any of our stores for your specialty needs."

17-Year-Old Busted With Illegal Handgun: Linden Police A 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday, July 5, after police in Linden discovered he was in possession of an illegal handgun, authorities said. The teenager was stopped at 6:30 p.m. near West Simpson Ave, Lt. Christopher Guenther said. An investigation led to the recovery of a loaded, defaced handgun with a high-capacity magazine, Guenther said. The teenager was charged as a juvenile with multiple weapons charges, including second-degree possession of a handgun. He was remanded to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center pending a court appearance, Guenther said.

Paterson Rallies Around Firefighter Severely Injured In Motorcycle Crash Jonathan Roman is lucky to be alive. The Paterson firefighter, a veteran who served in Iraq, was on his way to work when he was involved in a motorcycle crash in Sept. 2022.
