Secaucus Man Busted For Child Porn: Police A 35-year-old Secaucus man was arrested and charged with viewing and uploading child pornography on Thursday, June 15, authorities said. Johan Marte Garteo was apprehended following a seven-month long investigation, where police determined he watched videos depicting children engaging in sexual acts, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. Garteo was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Miller said. He was released pending a court appearance, Miller said.

East Orange Teen Attempted Vehicle Break-In: Linden Police A 19-year-old East Orange man was arrested and charged with attempting to break into a parked vehicle in Linden on Wednesday, June 14, Capt. Christopher Guenther said. Police responded to the 900 block of Bacheller Avenue at around noon after a witness observed Tariq Frye walk up to the driveway of a nearby home and attempt to enter a car parked in the driveway, Guenther said. Frye was seen walking on E. Edgar Road and after a short investigation, he was placed under arrest, Guenther said. Jersey City Man Arrested, Firearms, Drugs Seized: Hudson County Prosecutor A 29-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged with numerous drug and weapons charges, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced on Thursday, June 15. David Pineiro was arrested following a months-long investigation, Suarez said. Police recovered four forearms and various illegal narcotics, valued at more than $50,000, Suarez said. Man Arrested After Shooting Near Costco: Bayonne Police A 59-year-old Bayonne man was arrested and charged for a shooting a man near a Costco in March, police announced on Thursday, June 15. On Friday, March 17, a 61-year-old man was walking in the area of Chosin Few Way and East 40th Street when James Johnson ran toward him and shot him in the leg, police said. Body Recovered From Passaic River: Newark Police A man's body was recovered from the Passaic River on the morning of Thursday, June 15, authorities said. At 8:06 a.m. police responded to the 700 block of Raymond Boulevard/Riverbank Park on a call of a body in the Passaic River, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Officers found and recovered the body, and the male victim was pronounced dead soon after, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Four Teenagers Arrested After Overturning Stolen Vehicle: Summit Police An overturned vehicle led to the apprehension of four 16-year-olds from Essex County for stealing a car on Wednesday, June 14, Summit Police said.
