Secaucus Man Busted For Child Porn: Police A 35-year-old Secaucus man was arrested and charged with viewing and uploading child pornography on Thursday, June 15, authorities said. Johan Marte Garteo was apprehended following a seven-month long investigation, where police determined he watched videos depicting children engaging in sexual acts, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. Garteo was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Miller said. He was released pending a court appearance, Miller said.

Body Recovered From Passaic River: Newark Police A man's body was recovered from the Passaic River on the morning of Thursday, June 15, authorities said. At 8:06 a.m. police responded to the 700 block of Raymond Boulevard/Riverbank Park on a call of a body in the Passaic River, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.  Officers found and recovered the body, and the male victim was pronounced dead soon after, Fragé said.  The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.
