Newark Man Fatally Shot In East Orange A 39-year-old Newark resident was shot and killed in East Orange on the afternoon of Thursday, June 1, authorities said. At 2:44 p.m., East Orange police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Steuben Street and found Omar Johnson-Pilgrim suffering from gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Jersey City Mom Killed In Five-Car Crash Left Behind Young Twins, Teens The family of Desiree Milow, the driver who was killed when her vehicle overturned and struck five others in Jersey City on Memorial Day Weekend, is seeing support from the community. Community Supports Linden Family Who Lost Everything In Fire The Benda family lost everything, including their two cats Sunshine and Peek-a-Boo, after a fire engulfed their Linden home on Friday, May 26. While the family, John, Carol and their two daughters, Kristen and Jamie, were lucky to escape unharmed, the fire destroyed their home and their possessions. A fundraiser has been created to help them get back on their feet. As of Friday, June 2, more than $15,000 has been raised. Officer Kills Dog After Attack In Linden: Police A dog was shot and killed after it attacked two police officers in Linden on Friday morning, June 2, authorities said. At 11 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of Dewitt St. to check on the welfare of multiple dogs, Captain Christopher Guenther of the Linden Police Department said.
