Residents Displaced By Four-Alarm Jersey City Fire See Community Support Three homes were damaged and 17 people were displaced following a four-alarm fire in Jersey City on Wednesday, April 5. Now the community wants to help. Two fundraisers have been launched on GoFundMe to assist people displaced by the blaze. Combined, the fundraisers have raised almost $27,000 from more than 300 donors, as of Monday, April 10.  Simone Monahan and her husband Danny launched her fundraiser after she said they lost everything in the fire.  "If the situation weren’t so bad I wouldn’t even be doing this, but I have no choice but to ask for your help," Simone said. …

Motorcyclist Injured In Turnpike Crash A motorcyclist was hurt after crashing on the New Jersey Turnpike in Union County on Sunday, April 9. The crash occurred in Elizabeth on inner roadway milepost 101 around 9:45 p.m., when the motorcyclist lost control while traveling southbound on the turnpike, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan.  The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.

Man Stabs Sex Worker At Meadowlands Hotel: Police A 26-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged with stabbing a sex worker at a hotel in Secaucus on Sunday, April 9, authorities said.
