Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Police ID Two Women Killed In Triple Shooting In Northwest DC Two women are dead and a third teen was injured in a triple shooting in Northwest DC, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Police have identified Mikeya Ferguson, 19, and Cle’shai Perry, 18, as the victims who were shot and killed shortly before midnight on Friday night in the 1300 block of 7th Street NW. Officers were called to the area to investigate the shooting, where they found Ferguson, Perry, and a third teen girl suffering from gunshot wounds. Suspect Apprehended After Man Found Shot To Death In Virginia: Sheriff (Developing) The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has apprehended a shooter who allegedly killed a man overnight in Sterling, authorities announced. Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Friday night, deputies from the sheriff's officer were called to the 21000 block of Stanford Square to investigate a reported shooting. State Police Trooper Airlifted To Hospital After Being Hit By Impaired Driver In MD: Officials A Maryland State Police trooper was injured early on Saturday morning after an allegedly drunk driver struck his cruiser. Man Accused Of Murdering Missing Maryland Teacher, Police Say Police say that they have arrested a man who is accused of killing a beloved Prince George’s County teacher who was reported missing from Greenbelt in late July. Harold Francis Landon III, of University Park, has been arrested in connection to the murder of 59-year-old Mariame Sylla, a third grade teacher at the Dora Kennedy French Immersion School.
