Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Man Who Killed Wife, Son, Shot Neighbor Knocking On Door Before Standoff In Maryland: Police A man has been charged with shooting and killing his wife and son in their Fort Washington home before barricading himself inside, authorities announced. Michael Kevin Burch has been identified by the Prince George's County Police Department as the suspect who gunned down Rori Burch, 52, Michael Burch, Jr., 25, in the 1900 block of Tall Timber Court on Thursday afternoon. Moped Rider Killed Crashing Into Tractor-Trailer On I-495 In Maryland Traffic was tied up for miles on I-495 in Prince George's County on Friday afternoon when a moped rider was killed after crashing into a tractor-trailer.
