Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Scattered Showers, Thunderstorms Will Sweep Through Region Ahead Of Cold Front A couple of days ahead of the arrival of the remnants of powerhouse storm Ida, a round of scattered showers and thunderstorms will sweep through the region ahead of a cold front. The time frame for storm activity is late Monday afternoon, Aug. 30 into the evening. The chance for storms and showers will increase Monday evening. Powerhouse Storm Ida On Track To Bring Drenching Rainfall To Region: Here's Latest Timing, Path Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 storm in southeastern Louisiana on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 29, the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which made landfall as a Cat 3 hurricane. Woman's Body Found In Compact SUV At Commuter Parking Lot In Region An investigation is underway after a body was found inside a parked compact SUV at a commuter parking lot in the region. Just before 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, there was a report of a strong odor emanating from a gray, Honda CR-V, bearing a California license plate, parked in the I-84 eastbound Exit 2 lot in Danbury, Connecticut State Police said. Responding troopers located a woman inside of the CR-V, who was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. 37-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash, CT State Police Say An investigation is underway after a fatal single-vehicle crash in Connecticut. It happened around 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, and involved a motorcycle on westbound Interstate 691 in New Haven County near the Exit 5 entrance ramp in the City of Meriden, according to state police. Meriden Fire Department personnel were on the scene assisting in life-saving efforts when state police troopers responded. 20-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash A 20-year-old suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island. It happened just before 3:10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 in Medford. Patrick Malone was driving a 2013 Toyota Rav4 southbound on Crooked Hill Drive when his vehicle struck a parked vehicle and overturned, Suffolk County Police said. Malone was ejected from the vehicle. Malone, of Medford, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. The Toyota was impounded for a safety check. New Black Bear Sighting Reported On Northern Westchester Roadway A busy Northern Westchester roadway may want to consider a name change after a black bear was spotted there making the rounds for the second time in three weeks. Man Critically Injured After Car Crashes Into Truck On Long Island Expressway A man was seriously injured when a car crashed into a truck overnight on the Long Island Expressway, according to authorities. It happened around 1:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 in Dix Hills. Koray Kurulgan, age 30, was operating a 2005 MINI Cooper eastbound on the expressway, near Exit 52, when the vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder, Suffolk County Police said. Hurricane Ida Barrels Toward Gulf: Here's How Much Rainfall Storm Could Bring To Northeast Hurricane Ida is heading toward the United States coast, picking up strength as it moves over warm waters surrounding Cuba, with the potential to be a Category 4 storm when it makes landfall late in the weekend.
