Serious Turnpike Crash Jams Traffic In Burlington County A 49-year-old man from New York who was stopped in the shoulder of the New Jersey Turnpike was seriously injured when he suddenly sped away from the trooper checking on him, hitting another vehicle Sunday morning, May 14, authorities said. The man was stopped in a Honda Accord on the shoulder near milepost 54.2 in Bordentown, when a trooper came over to check on him around 10:35 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. Student Raped At Least One Other Juvenile In Falls Church: Police A student has been charged with rape in connection with two sexual assault cases including one on school property in Falls Church, authorities said. Police said only that the student was charged on Thursday, May 11, following a two-month investigation into a report of a serious incident outside school hours. Helicopter Helps Locate Robbery Suspect In Alexandria A police helicopter helped authorities locate a suspect in a commercial robbery in Alexandria Friday, May 12. The initial incident happened on the 3500 block of Mount Vernon Avenue, bringing a large police presence to the scene. Baby Trapped In Crib Dies In Berks County House Fire A 1-year-old girl trapped in her crib died in a Berks County house fire over the weekend, officials said. Crews responded to the blaze on Philadelphia Avenue in Cumru Township around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13. The flames had spread to surrounding homes and all occupants were evacuated, except for the baby, who was found dead in her crib on the third floor of one of the homes despite rescue efforts, 6abc reports.
