Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Driver Seriously Hurt In Crash That Closed I-195 On Jersey Shore A 30-year-old driver from Wall Township was seriously hurt in a crash that closed interstate 195, authorities said. Kyle P. Luciano was ejected in the multiple-car collision and had to be hospitalized, according to New Jersey State Police. I-195 was closed in both directions for several hours as a result of the crash. Crash With Injuries Closes I-195 On Jersey Shore A multi-vehicle crash with injuries closed Interstate 195 in both directions during the evening rush, New Jersey transportation officials said. Multiple emergency personnel were on the scene at about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16. The crash occurred at about 4:20 p.m. east of Exit 28 near Route 9 in Howell, closing all lanes of the highway.
