Man With Ties To Allentown Escapees Police Custody A man with Allentown ties who escaped police custody may be on his way back to the area, authorities warn.  Hector Ruben Medina-Pagan, 46, broke out from a transport van in Hazleton on March 24, said the Carbon County Sheriff's Office.  He is wanted on two parole warrants and now has a pending felony escape charge, they added.  Investigators believe he's headed back to Allentown or possibly Puerto Rico.  Medina-Pagan is described as 6-foot, 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Pennsylvania EMT, Firefighter Dies At 27 Glen D. Golembeski II, an emergency medical technician in Bensalem, died after a period of illness on Sunday, Oct. 1, according to loved ones and former colleagues. He was 27.  A Doylestown native, Golembeski was a 2014 graduate of Central Bucks East High School, his obituary says. Convicted Killer Gets Prison Time For 2021 Allentown Slaying The gunman convicted of killing 43-year-old Jose Bermudez will spend the next several decades in prison, a Lehigh County judge has ruled.  Raymond B. Gourgue, 36, was sentenced to 20 to 40 years on Wednesday, Sept. 27.  Gourgue was convicted on murder charges in July. Police said he shot and killed Bermudez on the 100 block of North Hall Street on May 14, 2021.  Bermudez was pronounced dead later that night at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, the Lehigh County coroner has said.  Gourgue was arrested over a year later in October 2022.

Reading Student Hit By Car Near High School, Police Say A 14-year-old student was hit by a car while walking to Reading High School on Thursday morning, Sept. 28, police told Daily Voice.  The student, a girl, was crossing the street at the same time a car was turning, RPD said.  Her injuries were non-life-threatening and she was treated at a nearby hospital, police added.  The driver stayed on-scene and is cooperating with investigators.
