Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

3 Guns Recovered In South Jersey Three guns were recovered in a city in South Jersey. The discovery of guns followed a  ShotSpotter alert in Pleasantville on Tuesday. Police were called to Main Street and Atlantic Avenue after the 1:24 p.m. alert, and found shell casings, Pleasantville police said. Stolen Car Catches Fire On Garden State Parkway A stolen car caught fire on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The car was reported stolen out of Little Silver, according to Trooper Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. State troopers found the car on fire at milepost 116.8 northbound in Holmdel at 11:53 a.m. Friday, Marchan said. The car had been abandoned and there was no one close to it. The incident remains under investigation.

A routine day of making sandwiches on a 16-hour shift turned into a very memorable one for John Wallop. Stolen Autos Reported In Central Jersey There were a couple of reports of stolen vehicles In Central Jersey. One came out of Middletown about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and involved a blue 2020 BMW, initial reports said. An unconfirmed report said that it was taken from an Acme lot on Newman Springs Road. The second report of a stolen came out of Red Bank about 2:15 p.m. The Investigation is still ongoing at this time and the vehicle has not yet been recovered, Cpl.
