Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Fire Victim ID'd In Central Jersey A 77-year-old man killed in a fire in Central Jersey last week has been identified, authorities said on Monday. Dorbin Armstrong, of Edison, was found unresponsive inside his home on Plainfield Avenue, according to  Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department. Edward Smith Jr. was trying to make a left turn from Adams Lane onto Route 1 north when an oncoming tractor-trailer struck his tow truck, North Brunswick police said. The crash occurred about 12:30 a.m. Monday in the northbound lanes of Route 1 near Adams Lane in North Brunswick, initial reports said.
