Longtime Owner Of Historic Easton Snack Shop Dies After Courageous Cancer Battle The Easton community is coming together to support a local snack shop owner whose husband died after a courageous battle with cancer. Antoine Bassil, who owned The Carmelcorn Shop in Centre Square with his wife of 34 years, Sia, died Sept. 24 at St. Luke’s Hospital at the age of 62, his obituary says. Driver, Passengers Avoid Serious Injury After Car Flips In Hunterdon County [Photos] A sedan driver and passengers miraculously avoided serious injuries after the car overturned in Hunterdon County Wednesday afternoon. The West Amwell Fire Company rushed to the crash scene on Mt. Airy Harbourton Road in Lambertville around 2:30 p.m. Emergency crews ensured “within minutes” that all occupants had safely escaped the overturned vehicle, the fire company said. Bicyclist Fatally Struck By Car In Sussex County, Report Says A bicyclist was killed in a car crash in Sussex County earlier this week, reports say. George P. Ceddia of Netcong was struck by a 17-year-old Stanhope resident at the intersection of Route 183 and Main Street around 12:15 p.m. Monday, NJHerald reports citing Stanhope Police Chief Steven Pittigher. Ceddia, 65, was pronounced dead a short time later, and no charges have been filed.
