Sen. Carlucci Secures Grant For Legal Services Of Hudson Valley Legal Services of the Hudson Valley announced it has secured a $75,000 grant from Sen. David Carlucci (D-Rockland) to allow it to hire an attorney for its Spring Valley office. The attorney will provide family law and immigration legal services to victims of domestic abuse in Rockland County. In Rockland County, LSHV handled more than 100 Domestic Violence cases impacting almost 300 family members in 2016. Single-Family Home Price Increases In Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange A decrease in inventory has led to an increase in the price of homes in the Hudson Valley. According to the Hudson Gateway Multiple Listing Service, in Westchester, the second quarter median sale price of a single-family house was $670,000, an increase of $20,000 or 3.1 percent over last year`s level. The mean sale price of $900,000 was seven percent more than last year. Westchester condominiums and cooperatives also enjoyed median price increases of 5.3 percent and 3.9 percent respectively. Trump Attorney, Ex-Westchester Resident, Apologizes For Threatening Emails President Donald Trump's attorney should probably think before he hits send on his next email. Marc Kasowitz, who previously lived in Mount Kisco, said he would apologize for responding to someone who thought he should resign as Trump's attorney with four profane and threatening emails, according to ProPublica.com. Man Caught With Heroin At Route 35 Mobil Station, Yorktown Police Say WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was arrested and charged after police found him to be in possession of a hypodermic needle containing heroin at a gas station. Implement Lyme Disease Act, Gillibrand Tells Trump Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) wants the government to do more to combat Lyme disease.The Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Prevention, Education, and Research Act was signed into law at the end of 2016, but has not yet been implemented by the new administration, Gillibrand said.
