Yonkers Honored With Best Water In Westchester YONKERS, N.Y. -- Drink up, Yonkers residents. Yonkers won the annual water taste test in White Plains Tuesday defeating 10 other municipalities. July 4th Fireworks Celebration In Peekskill Coming To End PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- After 55 years, a Peekskill tradition will be coming to an end. The Peekskill Fire Department announced its 55th July 4th fireworks celebration will be its last, saying it has become difficult to collect money each year to sustain the parade. The event costs about $34,000 each year and is funded completely through volunteer efforts. The fire department took over the parade in 1962 from The Area Jaycee's.

Teen Boy Repeatedly Punches Girl In Face In JV Mall Brawl, Police Say A 14-year-old boy was charged following an altercation at Jefferson Valley Mall where Yorktown Police say he allegedly repeatedly punched a 15-year-old girl in the face and arm Sunday. The teen, a Peekskill resident whose identity was not released, was charged with juvenile delinquency with the underlying charge of attempted assault in the third degree. State Halts Hawthorne Cedar Knolls Student Intake After Assault Incidents HAWTHORNE, N.Y. -- After several incidents involving students, the state ruled Hawthorne Cedar Knolls school for troubled teens can no longer accept students, effective immediately.  The ruling was made by the Office of Child and Family Services. Last weekend, two teenage girls from Hawthorne Cedar Knolls were arrested for allegedly attacking and mugging a woman at the Valhalla Metro-North Station.
