Ocean Grille Opening Wednesday In Rye RYE, N.Y. -- A new restaurant is coming to Rye Town Park. Ocean Grille is opening Wednesday at the park, replacing Southside Johnnie's, which closed in December after 17 years. The restaurant is run by Al and Joe Ciuffetelli of Homestyle Catering. The popular caterers already operate food and beverage concessions at the Westchester County Center, Dundwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers, Putnam County Golf Course, Blue Hill Golf Course in Pearl River and Murray's skating in Yonkers. Homestyle is paying $92,000 for a one-year licensing fee and the restaurant will be open until October.

Five Candidates Running For Two Seats On Somers School Board SOMERS, N.Y. -- It will be a crowded field in the Somers school board elections this year. Five people are running for two open seats on the school board, with elections taking place May 16. The candidates are incumbent Chadwick Olsen, Jonathan Welsh, MaryRose Joseph, Lindsay Portnoy and Raina Laredo. Residents will also be voting on the 2017-2018 budget. The $88.3 million will increase spending by $1.4 million. Five Vying For Three Seats On Nyack School Board NYACK, N.Y. -- There will be contested school board elections in Nyack this year. Voters will head to the polls on May 16 to choose among five people running for three seats. Incumbents Leann Irvin, running for a third term, Jennifer Marraccino running for a second term and James Marshall, running for a third term, are being challenged by newcomers Beth Davidson and Michael Lockett. An $83 million budget, which has a 2.09 percent tax increase, is also on the ballot.

Former Westporter Martha Stewart Flips Off Photo Of President Trump Television personality and food expert Martha Stewart, who launched her business empire while living in Westport, is apparently no fan of her neighbor, President Donald Trump. At the Frieze Art Fair in New York, a photo was taken of Stewart giving the middle finger to a photo of Trump, who, like Stewart, has a home in Bedford, N.Y. The photo went viral but the Twitter account that posted it has been set to private. Former Cuomo Aide Challenging Rep. Faso U.S. Rep. John Faso (R-Kinderhook), who represents the 19th District, has a new challenger. Gareth Rhodes, who was an aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, announced he plans to challenge Faso, who is in his first term, in next November's election. The district includes a part of Dutchess County. Rhodes, who left the governor's office to attend Harvard Law School, said he plans to move to the district later this year, according to Politico. Rhodes grew up in Kingston.
