An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Spooky Noises Keep New Castle's Andrew Cuomo Up At Night Gov. Andrew Cuomo might want to ditch the Governor's Mansion for his New Castle home. Cuomo said spooky noises in the mansion are preventing him from getting some sleep, according to the New York Post. The governor is often alone in the house while his family is back in Westchester. And while he said he doesn't believe in ghosts, being alone in a house and hearing noises doesn't make for a restful night in bed, he told the Post. Gov. Playland Set To Receive $60 Million In Improvements RYE, N.Y. -- Rye Playland is getting a facelift. County Executive Rob Astorino and Nicholas Singer of Standard Amusements announced Friday they have finalized the construction timetable for making $60 million worth of improvements to the park. 'Survivor' Winner Speaking At Jewish Community Center In Harrison HARRISON, N.Y. -- Ethan Zohn is a real-life survivor. Zohn, who is speaking at the JCC Harrison on May 11 at the Jewish National Fund's Positively Israel Reception, won "Survivor: Africa" and is also a two-time cancer survivor. Man Who Made Illegal Turn In Yorktown Had Multiple Active Bench Warrants Making an illegal right turn at a red light on Route 6 resulted in a Carmel man being arrested in Yorktown Thursday night. Lennox Miller, 41, was charged with driving with a suspended license. His license was suspended because he failed to answer a summons and for failing to pay child support, police said. Miller had an active bench warrant out of Carmel and an active arrest warrant out of New York City, both for traffic offenses. Miller was released on $250 bail and turned over to the Carmel Police Department following his release. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on June 6.

Steer For Student Athletes Commemorates Graduates At Annual Gala RYE, N.Y. -- A not-for-profit based in Rye is helping student athletes get the support they need.Steer for Student Athletes is hosting its third annual spring graduation banquet at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester from May 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Steer provides funding and support services to help underprivileged athletes. Fishkill Five Guys On Track For Summer Opening FISHKILL, N.Y. -- A Five Guys Burgers and Fries is set to open in Fishkill this summer. The Five Guys will be located at the Hudson Valley Town Center at 18 Westage Drive, along with a Chipotle. The Five Guys on Old Route 9 in Fishkill will be closed when the new location is open. Former Yonkers Priest Beatified By Vatican A priest who served in the Hudson Valley is on the track to sainthood. Rev. Solanus Casey was beatified by Pope Francis on Thursday, with the church attributing a miracle to him. Beatification is the next step on the road to becoming a saint. Casey, who died in 1957 at age 86, would be the first American-born male Catholic saint. Casey's first assignment was at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers. Dogs, Humans Excited For Annual SPCA Dog Walk In Yorktown YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Thousands are expected to come out to FDR Park in Yorktown Heights Saturday for the SPCA's 12th Annual Dog Walk and Pet Fair.
