An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Mount Kisco Hosting March, Rally In Support Of Immigrants Sunday MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Mount Kisco residents are coming together to show their support for the local immigration population Sunday.A march is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., beginning in the parking lot behind the movie theater on Main Street and ending at the steps of Mount Kisco Village Hall. Ossining Police Carrying Torch For Special Olympics OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining Police will be running on the side of the road Thursday- all for a good cause. The police are participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics at about 2:30 p.m. Each year, law enforcement professionals, including police and correction officers from around the country, escort the Special Olympics Torch as Guardians of the Flame. Pelham Hosting Candidates Forum For School Board Candidates PELHAM, N.Y. -- Voters will get a chance to hear from the five candidates running for two seats on the Pelham School Board Thursday. The district is hosting a candidate's forum at Pelham Memorial High School Alumni Hall moderated by the League of Women Voters at 7:30 p.m. Attendees can submit questions written on index cards, which will be read by the moderator. Rep. Faso Announces Support For American Health Care Act You can move Rep. John Faso's (R-Kinderhook) name to the yes column when it comes to the American Health Care Act. Faso, who represents the 19th district which includes a portion of Dutchess County, announced on Twitter Thursday morning that he will be voting for the bill this afternoon, which will overhaul parts of the Affordable Care Act. Fox Lane Students Hope To Have A Voice On The School Board MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Four students from Fox Lane High School have put together a plan to ensure students will have more of a say in what goes on in their school district. The students have asked to have student representatives on the Bedford Central School District Board of Education. Man Charged After Threatening Victim With Pistol In Yorktown, Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 21-year-old Ossining man was arrested and charged after Yorktown police say he displayed and pointed a pistol at another person. Jorge Andres Caranugi was charged with menacing in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor, after the incident, which occurred on Friday, April 28, police said. Caranugi was arraigned and released on $250 bail and is due back in court on May 16.

First Chipotle In Dutchess On Track For Summer Opening In Fishkill FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Burrito lovers can soon rejoice. Dutchess County's first Chipotle is set to open this summer in Fishkill at the Hudson Valley Town Center at 18 Westage Drive. A Five Guys Burgers and Fries is also being built on the site. Construction on the 4600 building that will house the 2300 square foot restaurant is complete. Rockland Community College Names New President Rockland Community College has a new president. Michael Baston was appointed president of RCC, effective on July 1, replacing Cliff Wood, who is retiring. Assisted Living Facility At Church Site Proposed For Pleasantville PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The United Methodist Church could soon be transformed into a new assisted living facility in Pleasantville. Sunrise Development presented their plans for 70 Bedford Road in the Old Village at the April 24 Village Board meeting. The development would be a three-story building with 79 units and 90 residents.
