An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Kids Play Haunting Game Of Mini-Golf At Warner Library TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Mini-golf has never been this spooky in Tarrytown. Warner Library was in full swing Saturday, hosting its third annual Haunted Halloween Mini-Golf event to benefit the renovation of the library’s public meeting rooms. The long planned renovation of the third-floor program rooms will begin this year. Ossining Food Pantry Celebrates 28th Anniversary OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining Food Pantry held its annual celebration Sunday at Shattemuc Yacht Club. More than 200 people attended and helped raise funds for the purchase of food to help feed the needy in the Greater Ossining area. The Ossining Food Pantry is a 100% volunteer run organization with no paid staff, relying on the work of volunteers and donations from the community. The Food Pantry serves a cross-section of residents from the Greater Ossining area distributing food from a variety of locations and programs. Thousands Participate In Support Connection's Annual Walk YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- On Sunday, FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights was filled to capacity for Support Connection’s Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer. Kids Flock To Harrison Carnival HARRISON, N.Y. -- Children of all ages descended on Harrison over the weekend for the 2nd annual fall carnival at Louis M. Klein Middle School. The carnival featured games, foods, rides. The carnival benefited theater arts, culture arts and the visiting author programs at the district's elementary schools.

West Point Cadets Volunteer For Habitat For Humanity In Yonkers YONKERS, N.Y. -- West Point cadets teamed up to lend a hand to Habitat for Humanity on Saturday. The cadets helped out in Yonkers in preparation for Habitat's Veterans Buildathon. Cedar Manor Raises Over $1,000 To Fight Alzheimer's OSSINING, NY. -- Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff raised over $1,000 at the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease. The fundraiser, which took place at White Plains High School on Sept.25 drew approximately 1,500 people. Cedar Manor, located in Ossining, participates annually to help raise awareness and find a cure for this devastating illness.

Atria Seniors Thank Briarcliff First Responders BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The seniors at Atria Senior Living in Briarcliff decided to give back. Atria Senior Living in Briarcliff Manor held a World Gratitude Event that took place on Sept. 21. The effort was part of the ‘GoGrateful’ campaign, during which residents from Atria Senior Living communities across the U.S. and Canada demonstrated their appreciation. Treble Makers Perform At Paramount With Daisy Jopling PEEKSKILL, N.Y.-- The Treble Makers had the performance of a lifetime. Hendrick Hudson High School’s advanced singing group took the stage at Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill on Sept. 24, along with classical/rock violinist Daisy Jopling. Billed as “The Awakening Show,” the performance featured an 80-piece orchestra comprised of student and professional musicians. Woody Allen Series Produced In Briarcliff Premieres BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Briarcliff residents will get to see their village on the small screen starting Friday. Woody Allen's new TV show, "Crisis In Six Scenes," that he filmed earlier this year in Briarcliff is premiering on Amazon Prime Friday. Lakeland High School Senior Honored As Commended Student SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- Daniel Delayo, a Lakeland High School senior, was named a Commended Student in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students are named on the basis of a nationally applied Selection Index score that may vary from year to year. More than two-thirds (about 34,000) of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise.
