A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Peekskill School District Budget Approved PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill City School District's 2015-2016 budget was approved Tuesday. Voters approved the $81.9 million budget 582 votes to 320 votes. Incumbents Colin Smith and Lisa Aspinall-Kellawon were re-elected to the Board of Education with 550 votes and 505 votes, respectively. Ramon Fernandez finished in third place with 371 votes. The budget had a 2.62 percent increase on the tax levy. Voters also approved a change to transportation eligibility 582 votes to 320 votes.

Putnam Valley School District Budget Passes PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- Voters in Putnam Valley approved the school district's 2015-2016 budget on Tuesday. The $47.9 million budget was approved 742 votes to 167 votes. The budget carries a .4 percent spending decrease and a .5 percent tax levy increase. Guy Cohen and David Spitall were re-elected to the Board of Education with 679 and 662 votes, respectively. Daniel Vera came in third with 277 votes.

Garrison School District Budget Passes GARRISON, N.Y. -- The Garrison School District's 2015-2016 budget was approved by voters Tuesday. The $10.2 million budget passed 1,242 votes to 549 votes. The budget carries a 1.5 percent spending increase and a 2 percent tax levy increase. Philipstown residents will see a 2.1 percent tax increase while Putnam Valley residents will see a 2.3 percent tax increase. Incumbent Raymond J. O'Rourke, James Scott Hoch and David Gelber ran unopposed for seats on the Board of Education.

Ossining School District Budget Passes OSSINING, N.Y. -- Voters in the Ossining School District approved the 2015-2016 budget Tuesday. The budget passed 1,106 votes to 405 votes. Felix Flores and Maria Fernandez-Williams ran unopposed for two seats on the Board of Education. Ossining's $117.2 million budget increases spending 2.3 percent and increases the tax levy 2.9 percent. Voters in Ossining will see a 3 percent tax increase, voters in New Castle will see a 1 percent tax decrease and voters in Yorktown will see a 7.5 percent tax increase. The Ossining library budget was approved 1,090 votes to 385 votes.

Briarcliff School District Budget Passes BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N,Y. -- Voters in Briarcliff approved the district's 2015-2016 budget Tuesday. Voters approved the $50 million budget 500 votes to 140 votes. The budget was a 1.34 percent increase from 2014-2015 and carries a .93 percent tax increase. Michael Haberman was elected to another term on the Board of Education while Jan Fisher won a write-in campaign with 210 votes. Greg Dow came in third with 207 votes.

Irvington School District Budget Passes IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Voters in Irvington approved the school district's 2015-2016 budget Tuesday. Voters voted 835 votes to 373 votes to approve the $57.7 million budget, which carries a 2.2 percent tax increase. Michael Hanna and Catherine Palmieri were elected to the Board of Education with 816 votes and 809 votes, respectively. Incumbent Robyn Kerner came in third with 626 votes.

Pleasantville School District Budget Passes PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Voters in Pleasantville approved the district's 2015-2016 budget Tuesday. Voters voted to approve the budget, 584 votes to 231 votes.  The $48.9 million budget carried a 1.8 percent tax levy increase and a 1.3 percent tax rate increase. Incumbents Lawrence Boes and Emily Rubin Persons ran unopposed for another term on the Board of Education.

Croton-Harmon School District Budget Passes CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Voters in Croton said yes to the school district's 2015-2016 budget Tuesday. Voters approved the budget 441 votes to 113 votes. Incumbents Andrea Furey and Giuseppina Miller ran unopposed for another term on the Board of Education. The $46.07 million budget carried a tax increase of about 1.64 percent.  A ballot proposition to spend $300,000 on new buses was approved 411 votes to 131 votes. The Croton Free Library budget was approved 448 votes to 96 votes.

Hendrick Hudson School District Budget Passes CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Voters in the Hendrick Hudson School District overwhelmingly approved the district's 2015-2016 budget Tuesday. The budget was approved 580 votes to 154 votes. The bus proposition was approved 562 votes to 168 votes. Trustees Mary-Pat Briggi and Laurie Ryan ran unopposed for another term on the Board of Education. The proposed budget is $74.4 million, a 1.4 percent increase from the approved budget for 2014-15. Lakeland School District Budget Passes SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- The Lakeland School District's 2015-2016 budget was approved on Tuesday. Voters voted 877 votes  to 248 votes to approve the $161.2 million budget, which included a district-wide tax levy increase of .5 percent. Incumbent Carol Ann Dobson and newcomers Michael Daly and Karen Pressman were elected to the Board of Education with 881 votes, 817 votes and 801 votes respectively. Michael Cherchia finished fourth with 579 votes. Voters approved a proposition to purchase a bus 812 votes to 283 votes.
