The $114.5 million budget increased spending 3.72 percent and had a tax levy increase of 2.38 percent, within the state mandated tax levy. Pleasantville Voters Approve School Budget, Two Propositions PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Voters in Pleasantville approved the 2014-2015 budget, 740 votes to 333 votes.  Pleasantville's $47.4 million budget increased spending by 2.36 percent with a tax increase of 1.68 percent. Peekskill Voters Approve School Budget, Elect Two Board Members PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Voters in Peekskill approved the 2014-15 school budget, 409 votes to 220 votes. The $79.8 million budget increases spending 1.86 percent, with a 1.57 percent tax levy increase and 1.58 percent tax increase. The budget is within the state mandated cap on the tax levy. Richard Sullivan and Douglas Glickert were elected to the school board with 386 votes and 339 votes, respectively. Joe Urbanowicz had 302 votes and George Ondek had 188 votes.

Briarcliff Manor School Budget Approved; Jennifer Rosen Elected BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Voters in the Briarcliff Manor School District approved the 2014-15 budget, 863 votes to 452 votes. The $49.3 million budget increased spending by 5.45 percent with a tax levy increase of .45 percent. Town of Ossining residents will see their taxes increase by 1.21 percent while Mount Pleasant residents will see their taxes decrease by .21 percent. Jennifer Rosen defeated Gregory Dow for one seat on the school board, 764-662.

Croton-Harmon School Budget Approved By Voters; Three Board Members Elected CROTON HARMON, N.Y. -- Voters in the Croton Harmon School District approved the 2014-2015 budget, 530 votes to 130 votes. The $45.4 million budget increased spending 1.81 percent with a tax levy increase of 1.69 percent, within the state tax cap on the tax levy. The budget increases taxes by 2.27 percent in Cortlandt and 6.66 percent in Yorktown. Patrice Davidson, Todd Freebern and Neil Haber were elected to the school board with 511 votes, 438 votes and 400 votes, respectively defeating Carleen Julian and Ann Marie Sasso.

The $97 million budget increased spending by 3.2 percent with a tax levy increase of .6 percent, within the state's tax cap on the tax levy. Yorktown residents will see a .52 percent tax increase, New Castle residents will see a .30 percent tax increase while Cortlandt residents will see taxes increase 3.61 percent. Anthony D'Alessandro and Michael Magnani were elected to the school board with 994 votes and 922 votes respectively. Edward Ciffone had 574 votes.

Ball Threatens Assemblyman Katz With Legal Action WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The war of words between State Senator Greg Ball and Assemblyman Steve Katz is continuing. Ball, through his lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, sent Katz a letter threatening him with a lawsuit if he continues to imply Ball is under investigation for misusing campaign funds.  On Thursday, while announcing his re-election bid for the 94th district, Katz, according to News 12, said Ball was under investigation by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara for abusing campaign funds, per a follow-up to an investigation by the Moreland Commission.
