The 38th annual Westchester Cat Show was held at the Westchester County Center on Saturday and Sunday, bringing in cat lovers from throughout the Northeast and creating a feline frenzy. Card Catalogs Make Comeback In Peekskill PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Card catalogs are experiencing a resurgence at the Field Library in Peekskill. The Field Library debuted "Artists in the Archives: A Collection of Card Catalogs" on Saturday, Nov. 23, transforming the outdated way of looking for books into a work of art. Peekskill's Carla Rae Johnson helped organize the event and her piece, The Alternet, features more than 70 artists and 1,500 works of art. Johnson purchased a 50-drawer card catalog in 2010 and commissioned artists to provide artwork to fill the drawers. The artists responded by creating three hundred drawings, photos…

Brush Fire Near Routes 9A, 134 In Ossining Is Extinguished OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining Fire Department has extinguished a brush fire at a private home near Routes 9A and Route 134 on Tuesday night. According to Westchester County Police, the fire was caused by an outdoor wood burning stove. Fire officials arrived on the scene about 8:30 p.m. and closed off Route 9A southbond near 134, according to police. It took about an hour to extinguish the fire, according to police.  No one was hurt by the blaze and 9A and 134 were reopened, according to police.
