Westchester Community College Hires Belfiore As Athletics Director VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Westchester Community College has hired Michael Belfiore as the college’s new athletics director. Previously, Belfiore held the position of director of athletics at Bronx Community College. He currently serves as assistant regional director for men’s sports for Region XV of the National Junior College Athletic Association and he was community college vice president of the City University of New York Athletic Conference. Bridgeport Police Appleaud Another Successful Gun Buyback BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Bridgeport’s gun buyback program has officially taken more than 1,200 guns off the streets since it was launched in 2012, city officials said. The announcement came just days after another successful installment of the gun buyback program occurred Saturday. White Plains' Jeffrey Avery Captains RPI Football Team WHITE PLAINS N.Y. -- Jeffrey Avery, a White Plains resident and senior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, is one of three players elected to serve as captain of the RPI football team, head coach Ralph Isernia announced.Avery was elected by his teammates. Avery is the starting quarterback who led last year's team to a 4-1 record before suffering a season-ending injury in the sixth game.
