Construction Forces Route 9A Closures In Ossining OSSINING, N.Y. -- Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Route 9A will be closed at the Pleasantville Road overpass until 5 a.m. the next morning due to state Department of Transportation construction activity.Residents should plan evening travels accordingly. In addition, there will be left-lane closures between Hawkes Avenue and Pleasantville Road. Take note of detour signage and avoid this area if possible until work is complete.

Poughkeepsie Students Launch Anti-Violence Campaign POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Poughkeepsie City School District will begin an anti-violence campaign on Monday, May 16, that will last through the week, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal. This is the eighth annual year for the Society at War Against Illegal Guns and Violence (SWAG) with activities throughout the week culminating with a march through the city on Friday.
