Fuel Spill Poses Threat To Hudson River
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- A fuel spill in Tarrytown is causing environmental concerns in the Hudson River, according to News 12. Calls to police began around 11 p.m. Wednesday night, about the smell emanating across from the Metro-North station. There was an oily layer on top of the water and booms were placed in the water to temporarily block the spillage. Westchester County Emergency Services was called and couldn't find the source as it came from several storm drains in the area. Croton Firefighters Respond To Two Calls
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Two calls and department training kept Croton firefighters busy on Wednesday. At 10:34 a.m., companies were called to the Discovery Cove complex on Half Moon Bay Drive for an odor of gas inside. A small leak was found at the meter outside. Con Edison made repairs with no incident. At 8:20 p.m., Marine 12 was called out to the Hudson River to investigate a potential overturned vessel. Two Surrender To Ramapo Police On Warrants
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Two residents turned themselves in at the Ramapo Police Department headquarters on unrelated cases Wednesday, May 11. A 20-year-old female Airmont resident surrendered on arrest warrant and a 43-year-old female New Hempstead resident answered a criminal summons for criminal contempt. On Wednesday there were also accidents at these locations: West Central Avenue in Monsey; Viola Road in New Hempstead; Ralph Boulevard in Kaser; Spook Rock Road in Wesley Hills, Grant Street in Sloatsburg, Route 59 in Airmont, and Phyllis Terrace in Kaser. SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- A business meeting of the Scarsdale Board Of Education took place on May 4 and reports were given by members of various board committees.Here are the highlights: Communications: Boiler replacements in the district are under discussion. He is described as a very friendly, outgoing and independent boy who likes to explore his environment and will speak when he wants attention. Homer is looking for a perfect home.
