Ramapo Police Officers Receive Recognition For Actions
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Several Ramapo Police officers received Lifesaving awards at the Suffern Village Board of Trustees meeting for actions they took in the line of duty over the past year. The officers were Sgt. Rick Marsh, Police Officers Andrew Yorke, Jeff DeLuca and Craig Yustein, Chief Clarke Osborn and Lt. Ed Dolan, K-9 Officer Lou Venturini, Police Officer Billy Simurra, Sgts. Andy Loughlin and Dave Tarantino and Detective Mike Fennessey. This award ceremony comes in the midst of National Police Week.

Yorktown School District Reduces Tax Levy On Upcoming Budget
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Central School District Board of Education announced Monday night that it will reduce the tax levy increase to zero percent for the 2016-2017 school year budget. The previous estimated tax rate increase of 0.26 percent was lowered because of additional state aid receipts and a recent positive evaluation of the school district's financial position. Police Say Nanuet Man Lost $2,000 In Phone Scam
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Clarkstown Police are once again warning residents to be wary of fake calls from the Internal Revenue Service after a Nanuet man got scammed out of $2,000, according to lohud.com. RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The fire inspector for Ramapo is facing a loss in salary as a result of a demotion as well as a 60-day suspension by the Town Board after overlooking fire and safety violations at four area private schools that were uncovered by the state during inspections, according to lohud.com. Orangetown Police Respond To Violence At Hospital
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police responded to Nyack Hospital after being called about a person seeking medical attention acting disorderly and violent. The incident occurred on Saturday, May 7, just after 4 p.m. Police arrested 27-year-old Juan Reyes-Barrientos from Haverstraw on charges of terroristic threat and harassment. After arraignment he was remanded to Rockland County Jail to await a court date in Nyack.

Orangetown Police Arrest Domestic Incident
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police responded to a domestic incident on Van Wyck Road in Blauvelt on Saturday, May 7, just before 8:30 p.m. Police arrested Jack Owens, 47, of Blauvelt after investigating the scene. He was charged with criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing. He was arraigned and sent to Rockland County Jail with a court date to be scheduled in Orangetown Justice Court.

Motorcyclist Crashes On Pelham Road, Escapes With Only Minor Injuries
NEW ROCHELLE -- A motorcyclist crashed in New Rochelle early this morning and was lucky to only sustain minor injuries, according to News 12. According to police, the biker took a spill on Pelham Road just before 2 a.m., Wednesday, sustaining non-life threatening injuries and being brought to the hospital.
