Writers Workshop Scheduled For New Canaan Library
NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Join fellow novelists once a month to share and critique new work, do writing exercises and support each other in the creative process. Kids Can Learn To Code At Greenwich Library
GREENWICH, Conn. -- Students grades four through six can learn some code programming during a workshop at the Greenwich Library on Saturday, Feb. 20.The two-hour workshop will be led by MacInspires and kids can learn how to use Arduino, a simple computer that can sense and control more of the physical world than your normal desktop computer. An Arduino can be programmed to recognize the sound of a knock at the door and then unlatch the lack, or can be used to develop interactive objects, like a light that turns on and off. Reminder: Indian Point Will Test Sirens Wednesday Morning
BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- There will be a test of the Indian Point sirens in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange counties on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at approximately 10:30 a.m. This sounding will only be a test. No action by the public should be taken. If there were an emergency at the nuclear power plants, the sirens would be sounded continuously at full volume for four minutes, followed by an activation of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) on radio and television stations to broadcast important information and instructions.
