Scooter Stolen Outside Stop And Shop In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien resident reported the theft of his scooter outside Stop and Shop, according to the Darien Times. Police were told that the owner went into the store around 8:30 p.m. on July 12 for roughly 20 minutes leaving his scooter in the second bay on the West side of the parking lot. When he returned to the spot, his scooter wasn't there. The keys went with the owner inside the store but a grocery cart attendant saw a man pushing the scooter away, according to the Darien Times. Connecticut DOT Begins Repaving On Route 53 In Wilton WILTON, Conn. -- Beginning Tuesday, the Connecticut Department Of Transportation will be paving Route 53 (Chestnut Hill Road) between the Norwalk Town line and Route 106 (Cedar Road) in Wilton. The paving dates are July 26 to 28 with three days of paving expected on the Wilton side. The hours will be from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily and will impact traffic flow.  Police officers and certified flaggers will be used for traffic direction. The DOT advises to use an alternate route during that period.
