Candlewood Lake Takes Part In Zebra Mussel Research BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- This weekend is Aquatic Invasive Species Awareness Weekend in Connecticut and residents are urged to do their part in preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species. Zebra mussels are an aquatic invasive that have not yet been found in Candlewood Lake, but they have been found throughout much of the Housatonic River along with other nearby bodies of water.
