Orangetown Police Investigate Pearl River Fire ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police are investigating an early Tuesday morning fire in Pearl River. Fire departments from Pearl River, Orangeburg, West Nyack and Nyack helped extinguish the fire at 45 W. Naurashaun Ave. according to the post The blaze was contained in a detached garage and caused some damage to nearby structures. The Rockland County Sheriff's Arson Unit and Orangetown Police are investigating though it does not appear suspicious, the police said.

Financial Problems In NJ Stall Bus Building For Rockland ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A company building New Jersey Transit Buses, including those for Rockland routes, has shut down work due to the exhaustion of the Transportation Trust Fund, which finances these types of projects, according to lohud.com. Earlier this year NJ Transit's Board of Directors designated $100 million to buy 332 45-foot buses that would be destined for nine different companies. Ramapo Police Respond To Structure Fire In Monsey RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police responded to a fire about 10:30 a.m. Monday on Calvert Drive in Monsey. A multifamily dwelling was on fire when crews arrived, and all occupants had evacuated safely. The Monsey Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire, which started on the ground level and began spreading to the upper levels. The following agencies assisted: Tallman Fire Department, Hillcrest Fire Department, Thiells Fire Department, Ramapo Valley Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics. Yonkers Firefighters Respond To Smoke At C.H. Martin's Department Store YONKERS, N.Y. -- Firefighters extinguished a smoldering fire at C.H. Martin’s Department Store in Yonkers early Tuesday morning, according to News 12. Officials say the store owners found smoke in the store at 2 Palisades Ave. in Getty Square about 6:45 a.m., according to News 12. Fire crews put out the smolder quickly after arriving on the scene.
