Cops Play NFL/NBA Alumni In Basketball Game For Vets At North Rockland
HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Local police and professional athletes took to the courts at North Rockland High School to raise money for wounded soldiers, according to FiOS1 News.Prior to the game, a flag was presented to the mother of Manny Lopez, a 2005 North Rockland High School graduate who was killed in Iraq by a rocket grenade, according to FiOS1 News. Ramapo Police Arrest Trespassers At Quarry
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo Police arrested five young adults for trespassing at the Town of Ramapo Quarry, which is located in the Village of Suffern. They entered the property to swim in the flooded quarry pit but were arrested for trespassing and were released at the scene with appearance tickets for the Town of Ramapo Justice Court. Ramapo police described the quarry as dangerous with unseen hazards in the flooded pit area and surrounding grounds. Violators will be arrested if found at the Quarry without authorization.

Ramapo Police Respond To Hundreds Of Calls Over Weekend
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Over the past three days, from Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 17, the Ramapo Police Department responded to 345 calls for service, which included 18 traffic accidents. In that same time frame the Ramapo Police Department also made 14 arrests.

Student Claims Bullying On Bus Before Being Left Stranded
PINE BUSH, N.Y. -- An 18-year-old special-needs student from Orange County says he was taunted before being kicked off his bus last month, according to News 12. Justin Maxwell is saying he was left stranded to walk on Route 17 by a school bus driver after he had a bowel movements on board as a result of a medical condition. Sherri Maxwell, his mother, said that he has ulcerative colitis and that two adult aides on the bus did nothing to help him on the First Student Bus Company vehicle, according to News 12 Hudson Valley. New Rochelle Board Of Education Welcomes New Members
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Board of Education held an organizational meeting earlier this month in which they re-elected Rachel Relkin and elected Todd Kern, both of whom were sworn in to serve five year terms. Jared Rice, Deputy Mayor, City of New Rochelle presided over the swearing in and Reine Kim, a sixth grade student-to-be at Albert Leonard Middle School provided musical accompaniment on the cello. Hyde Park Woman Charged With Helping Boyfriend Violate Protection Order
HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- State police apprehended a Hyde Park woman after an investigation showed that she assisted her boyfriend in violating an order of protection against him for his recent sexual abuse arrest.Police said Lindsey Scott was helping Joseph Sucato get messages through to the victim in violation of the protection order. Her actions led to an arrest for aggravated family offense and she was processed with an appearance ticket for court on July 28.
