Spring Valley Teen Arraigned On Charges After Fatal Robbery SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley teenager has been arraigned this week after the robbery and fatal beating of another teen, according to News 12 Westchester. As previously reported in the Daily Voice, Jiwan Coleman, 16, allegedly beat 18-year-old Ruben Suchite Torres with a rock repeatedly before robbing him on June 26, according to News 12 Westchester. Torres died six days later from his injuries. Coleman could face 25 years to life if convicted and is being held on $3.5 million bail, according to News 12 Westchester. 'Pokémon Go' App Cited As Cause Of Upstate Crash Police are saying an upstate driver crashed into a tree while playing the new popular smart phone game Pokémon Go and warn others to exercise caution while playing, according to multiple reports. The 28-year-old Cayuga County man was lucky to come out free of injury and officials urge against playing the game while operating any vehicle from a car to a bike, according to the Auburn Citizen. Another common issue with the game is trespassing, as the app reminds players while loading, be aware of your surroundings and in a well-lit area while playing. Neighbors Help Contain Early Morning Fire In Yonkers YONKERS, N.Y. -- Residents of Clark Street in Yonkers woke up to a fire Wednesday morning, according to FiOS 1 News. Yonkers Police received a call at 4:30 a.m. for a structure fire. The residents all got out of the home safely and the house itself made it out mostly unscathed, according to FiOS 1 News. It took officials a half hour to combat the flames, with the help of neighbors, reported FiOS 1 News. The fire ultimately tore a hole in the roof and melted away the siding, according to FiOS 1 News. Dover Man Charged With DWI After Crash In Millbrook MILLBROOK, N.Y. -- New York State Police have charged a Poughkeepsie man with driving while intoxicated after an accident in Millbrook, according to authorities. Mario A. Ba Xol, 27, of Dover, is facing a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated, police said. Ba Xol was involved in a single-car collision, and when police arrived at the scene on Bangall Road, they discovered he was intoxicated at the time of the crash, according to police.  Ba Xol had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent, police said.
