Poughkeepsie Welcomes Slew Of New Eateries POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Four major restaurant chains have announced plans to open their first Dutchess County locations in Poughkeepsie, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Scheduled to open this year are Golden Corral, Tilted Kilt, Texas Roadhouse and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. Golden Corral is looking at a late summer target to open, with Tilted Kilt and Texas Roadhouse following in the fall. Driver Who Failed To Maintain Lane On Sprain Charged With DWI, Police Say GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A 34-year-old Bronx man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday after state police say he failed to maintain his lane on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh. Police pulled Christopher Perez, who was traveling north on the Sprain when troopers observed his Honda failing to stay in its lane before coming to a complete stop in the left lane, according to state police. Croton Fire Department Answers 10 Calls For Service Over Weekend CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- It was another busy weekend for the Croton Fire Department, which answered 10 calls for service, bringing the total number of incidents in July to 24. The calls answered by the all-volunteer department included three gas leaks, five fire alarms, one motor-vehicle accident and one service call.  Thus far in 2016 the Croton Fire Department has answered 199 calls for assistance. Bullet Holes Found At Yonkers Police Facility YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers police found what they believed to be bullet holes at one of their buildings, according to News 12. Police surmise that the bullets came from a BB gun or low-caliber firearm, according to News 12. On a given day roughly 50 people could be working in that location including special departments such as emergency services. Investigators will replace glass on the building and search surveillance video for leads, according to News 12.
