Mohegan Lake Woman Charged With Leaving Child, 5, Home Alone YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Nicola A. Williams, 41, of Mohegan Lake was arrested by Yorktown Police for endangering the welfare of a child after leaving her five-year-old child at home. On July 5 at 3:29 p.m. the Administration for Children's Services got a call that a child may be home alone on Mohegan Avenue. When police arrived on the scene and found the child alone they contacted Child Protective Services. Williams voluntarily appeared at the police station where she was arrested. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to reappear in court.

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Warnings were issued because of blue-green algae concerns at beaches in North Salem, according to News 12. The Westchester County Department of Health has run tests at beaches at Peach Lake and cleared the concerns, , according to News 12. The town is still asking residents to be aware and look for the algae, which can cause vomiting, rashes and difficulty breathing. Missing Westchester College Student's Whereabouts Still Unknown WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Stevie Bates, a Yonkers native, has been missing for more than four years. She was last seen on April 27, 2012, at Port Authority in Manhattan after arriving on a bus to attend classes at Hunter College where she was a student. She was 19 at the time of her disappearance. The 5-foot-6, 115-pound Bates has dyed blonde dreadlocks and brown eyes, authorities said.
