Hastings Board Of Education Welcomes Two New Members HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Hastings Board Of Education welcomed two new members and the president and vice president were re-elected. At the July 6 Hastings-on-Hudson Organizational Meeting, Lisa Eggert Litvin and Doug Sundheim were sworn in to start three year terms as school board trustees. Eileen Baecher was re-elected as president, and Jodie Meyer was re-elected as vice president, both unanimously.

Yorktown Looks To Crack Down On Dumping With Unique Means YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Town Board unanimously approved an amendment on June 21 that will make dumping from a vehicle a civil violation if caught in the act, according to The Examiner News. Gas Leak Scare Reveals Hoarding In Hastings HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Police were called to a Hastings home Thursday with reports of a possible gas leak and found an unconscious 84-year-old man, according to News 12. When police arrived on Mount Hope Boulevard, they found that the issue was a thermostat and boiler issue at the home of the man who had prior issues with hoarding, according to News 12. Man Charged With DWI After Hitting Brewster Police Vehicle, Fleeing On Foot BREWSTER, N.Y. -- State Police arrested a 29-year-old Wingdale man and charged him with aggravated driving while intoxicated on Tuesday after an incident in which he allegedly hit a Brewster police car and then fled the scene of the accident. Troopers were dispatched to Main Street in Brewster to assist village police with a hit-and-run in which Edy A. Perez, who was operating a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder, struck the police car and fled on foot, state police said. Car Crashes Into House In Poughkeepsie POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A two-car accident at approximately 10 a.m. on July 3 at the intersection of Marple Road and Seitz Terrace in the town of Poughkeepsie resulted in one of the vehicles crashing into a house.Police said a northbound BMW operated by a 25-year-old Poughkeepsie man collided with an eastbound Subaru operated by a 30-year-old Poughkeepsie woman before the vehicles continued onto the property at the northeast corner.
