Resurfacing of Little Tor Road In New City Begins NEW CITY, N.Y. -- The Rockland County Highway Department will be resurfacing Little Tor Road from Collyer Avenue to New Hempstead Road this week, weather permitting. White Plains Couple Fund Trips To Israel For Westchester Teens WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Twenty Westchester teens received Singer Scholarship Awards for summer programs in Israel on June 8 at UJA-Federation of New York’s White Plains office. Man Commits Assualt And Throws Statue Through Church Window In Suffern SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Santiago Brito-Avalos, 44, assaulted an older man at Sacred Heart Church before throwing a statue through a stained glass window and finally being detained by police using a taser, according to lohud.com. Brito-Avalos arrived at church around 6:30 a.m. Sunday looking to retrieve a wallet and phone he had left behind the previous evening.
