Mount Vernon Public Library Offers Defensive Driving Class MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A defensive driving class will be offered at the Mount Vernon Public Library on Wednesday and Thursday. The library is located at 28 S. First Ave. The Mount Vernon Public Library and Liberty Mutual Insurance are hosting the defensive driving class, presented by the National Traffic Safety Institute at a reduced rate.  Licensed drivers who complete the course will receive a 10 percent discount for three years on collision, liability, and no-fault insurance, remove up to four points from their driving record and learn new techniques for safe driving.  Attendees much atte…

The event kicked off with the parade, featuring the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department apparatus and members, who made their way into the upper village for a day full of food and entertainment.
