Danbury OKs $238M Budget With 2.4% Tax Hike DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury City Council has approved a $238 million budget for 2015-16 that will bring a tax rate increase of 2.4 percent, NewsTimes.com reported. Republicans, who hold the majority on council, said the tax hike couldn't be avoided because of the method the state uses to fund schools, the NewsTimes.com said. No Democrats on the City Council voted for the budget, according to NewsTimes.com. Westlake Grad Nardone Earns Lacrosse Honors At Manhattanville HARRISON, N.Y. -- AnnaMarie Nardone, a 2014 graduate of Westlake High School in Thornwood, was named to the 2015 All-Freedom Conference women’s lacrosse second team for Manhattanville College in Purchase. Nardone is the first Manhattanville Valiant freshman in nearly a decade to earn All-Conference honors. One of three Valiants to start all 15 games during her freshman season, Nardone ranked second on the team in scoring this season. The midfielder netted 32 goals with five assists for 37 points.
