Danbury OKs $238M Budget With 2.4% Tax Hike DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury City Council has approved a $238 million budget for 2015-16 that will bring a tax rate increase of 2.4 percent, NewsTimes.com reported. Republicans, who hold the majority on council, said the tax hike couldn't be avoided because of the method the state uses to fund schools, the NewsTimes.com said.
