College Road between Carlton Road and Mountain Road was closed for safety reason by the Ramapo Police from around 1 to 3 p.m. until utility crews arrived and removed the tree.

Car Flips After Husband Accidentally Hits Gas Pedal In Pleasantville PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- An elderly Pleasantville man and his wife were slightly injured when he mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake and hit a fence, flipping their vehicle, police said. The accident occurred Saturday in a parking lot on Marble Avenue, said Pleasantville Police Chief Erik Grutzner.  A Good Samaritan from a nearby apartment complex nearby heard the accident and called 911. Grutzner said both the husband and wife were transported to a local hospital, but that their injuries were minor.

Man Charged With DWI After Crash In Orangeburg ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- A Blauvelt man was nabbed for DWI following a traffic crash on Tuesday, May 23 in Orangeburg, according to the Orangetown Police Department. Ralph Gibbons, 62, was charged after police responded to an accident on Parkway Drive and found Gibbons with slurred speech and the odor of alcohol on his breath, police said. Police conducted a number of sobriety tests on the scene, which Gibbons failed. He also failed a breathalyzer test at the police station, police said. Gibbons was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on June 28.

The accident occurred at 11 a.m., when a southbound truck hauling a flatbed loaded with concrete blocks went out of control and ran off the shoulder of Route 22 just south of the intersection with Havilland Hollow Road in Patterson, said Capt. Andrew Zambrano, 29, notified the Town of Poughkeepsie Police earlier in May that he was moving to an address in the Dunbar Heights neighborhood in Peekskill. The Poughkeepsie police then notified the Peekskill police of the move so they could monitor his whereabouts, police said. Following the notification, Det.
