Stony Point Police Arrest Two Locals Over Holiday Weekend
STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point police arrested two local people over the holiday weekend, one for drugs and driving on a suspended license, and another for driving on a suspended license.
Michelle Squillante, 46, of Stony Point was charged with driving on a suspended license and for possession of a hypodermic needle and a small quantity of marijuana, following a traffic stop around 2 a.m. Sunday, Stony Point, Lt. Daniel Hylas said.
Squillante was released on $80 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Flags will be flown at half-staff across Dutchess County in honor of Stanley Mersand, 70, the county's longtime historian, who died Friday in Danbury, Conn.Mersand was a lifelong political enthusiast, often involved with the village of Pawling at various levels. His last position was on the Village Board and as deputy mayor. He also ran the Thomas E. Dewey Center in Pawling, dedicated to the life and career of his political mentor, and served as Dutchess County historian for many years.
