Brewster Board Of Trustees Calls For Meagher To Resign After Guilty Plea
PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- After pleading guilty Tuesday to charges of petty larceny for stealing almost $3,000 from the Greater Mahopac/Carmel Chamber of Commerce, the former director was also asked to resign as trustee for the Village of Brewster.
Erin Meagher, 27, of Brewster, was charged in March with grand larceny for using chamber funds to purchase expensive clothes, shoes, and handbags. She pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced misdemeanor charge of petty larceny.

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann, who testified at the disciplinary hearing against suspended Police Chief Michael Sullivan on Wednesday, said he lost confidence in the chief after he "flip-flopped" on leadership issues, according to Clarkstown Chief Counsel William Harrington.

Nyack Pair Caught After Stealing $400 From Local Business, Police Say
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A pair of burglary suspects were caught Wednesday after making off with hundreds of dollars from the Route 59 Car Wash, Clarkstown Police said.
Police apprehended two men, John Carlos Veras, 21, and Angel Gomez, 22, both of Nyack after a witness called the police department to report they had seen some suspicious people in the area of the business around 10 p.m. The caller knew the business was closed for the day, said Officer Peter Walker, spokesman for the Clarkstown Police Department.
